The KRCT Story
A rural promise. A national impact.
K. Ramakrishnan College of Technology was founded in 2010 with one ambition: to transform a quiet stretch of rural Tamil Nadu — Samayapuram, on the outskirts of Trichy — into a hub for engineering talent. Fifteen years on, that promise has been kept.
Today KRCT is an autonomous institution affiliated to Anna University, Chennai & approved by AICTE — accredited NAAC A+, NBA-recognised across multiple programs, ISO 14001:2015 certified, and recognised as the Trichy zone's only TNSCST-sponsored IPR Cell. Our 9 departments graduate 800+ engineers a year.

With over 28 years in teaching and research, Dr. N. Vasudevan brings both deep technical credibility and a national-policy lens to KRCT's leadership. He has previously served as Principal, Dean and Professor across institutions, and on governmental bodies including the NBA and NAAC.

Dr. Kuppusamy holds Bachelor's in Electronics, MBA from Kongu Engineering College, and Ph.D. in Management from Bharathiar University. NET and SLET qualified, ISO Certification auditor. Previously Director for MBA & MCA at MKCE.

2014
Entrepreneurship Cell Established
EDC-KRCT inaugurated 29 Jan 2014 — first formal industry-academia bridge for student startups.
2018
Autonomous Status Granted
UGC autonomous status — KRCT designs its own curriculum and conducts examinations independently.
2020
NBA Accreditation
Multiple B.E. programs receive NBA accreditation, recognising quality of engineering education.
2023
KR-SIIF Section-8 Incorporation
KR Startup Incubation & Innovation Foundation incorporated 31 Oct 2023 as a Section 8 not-for-profit.
2024
MSME Host Institute
KR-SIIF recognised as MSME Host Institute, unlocking structured grant pipelines for student founders.
